The third concert of the Rio Piano Trio’s current tour will be in Hornsea, located in the East Riding of Yorkshire. This particular event holds significant meaning for the two Davids, as both spent their formative years making music in this region. Hornsea is notably the birthplace of David Chew, adding an extra layer of personal importance to this performance. Furthermore, their participation coincides with the 80th anniversary year of the Hornsea Music Club, making the occasion all the more meaningful.

The concert will showcase music by some of South America’s most celebrated musical figures: Heitor Villa-Lobos, regarded as the most significant creative figure in 20th-century Brazilian music. is featured alongside the legendary Argentinian composer Astor Piazzola who redefined Tango for the modern age, infusing it with new energy and character.

The Trio will also present music by César Guerra-Peixe and Edmundo Villani-Côrtes, both of whom drew inspiration from the vibrant folk traditions of Brazil's north-east region. The jazz-infused music of Radamés Gnattali completes the musical diversity which the Rio Piano Trio bring to their programmes.
